Little National Hotel, Sydney

Located above Wynyard Walk, this project's scope involved a skygarden roof bar terrace and a green façade in screening the hotel rooms from the adjacent office buildings. These two landscape scopes of work were very different due to their challenges and how they were planned.

The rooftop bar is an intensive rooftop that balances the extreme climate. But also to appear verdant (where such plants typically do not grow). Plant selection was a critical part of fulfilling this brief.

The green façade was the opposite of the rooftop, where deep shade and cold wind were the technical challenges to creating a vertical bamboo façade. Bamboo species must be carefully selected to adapt to vertical changes in light conditions and wind.
